Dogs Delight

Wednesday 31 December 2014

Here we are in the middle of the Christmas season and looking to the New Year....where did the months go!  I hope you all had a very blessed time with family and friends over Christmas, and have a special fun time planned for tonight!  We see in the New Year very quietly :)
It has been a long time between posts for me and I hope that the coming year will bring me more creative time because I've missed it.  It's been a combination of so many things, starting a new job, closing one online store and setting up another (still in the process of!), but I'm finally seeing the end of the tunnel.
A few months ago now I made this card for a work colleague who was saying goodbye to a much loved member of their family, and only found the images on my camera this morning so I thought I would share.

I used a gorgeous image by Mo Manning and coloured with Copic markers.  I don't have all the colours I used written down anywhere, but I will try to remember in the future to make a note.  It's always a great help when I'm surfing on blogs to see what colours have been used!

A little bit of added shading using a black pastel pencil as well.  I love pencils but I love my Copics as well so the day I made this I had a blast pulling them out once again!

Just a bit of a close up.  As most of us are I'm still learning the art of colouring and shading, but love the playing!!  In the process of organising my office so that its a little more user friendly, but I hope to be back soon!

Thinking of You

Sunday 21 September 2014

Another beautiful day of Spring weather, and the start of school holidays here in Victoria, what more could I ask for!  I love the change of routine the holidays bring, with less running around and timetables to meet, and when perfect weather is thrown in to the mix it simply amazing.
I spent some time colouring using Prismacolor pencils yesterday and have a few minutes now to post and share my card with you...

My one layer card has been stamped using Versafine ink on to Stonehenge paper and coloured using Prismacolor pencils then blended with Zest-It, a lovely orange based product.  The image is from the AnnaBelle Stamps set 'Tomorrow's Dream', a very sweet set illustrated by artist Arian Armstrong.

I added some grass to ground the image and a sentiment before ruling my border.  I've seen a lot of cards lately using this technique and love the look.

I forgot to add the brown I used for her hair, mainly because I put it back in it's container, and sitting here I can't remember the name of it!  Below are the other colours I used which I hope tie in with the colour challenge I played along with over at Colour Q.

Monster Birthday

Sunday 14 September 2014

I've had a beautiful Sunday so far and hope you've been able to enjoy it as well.  Our day started with church together, a quite lunch and a lazy afternoon with coffee outside on the front verandah in the Spring sunshine.
Today I've finished a card I started yesterday using Inktense pencils for my colouring medium.  The image was stamped on to 100% cotton watercolour paper 11cm x 11cm with Versafine ink.
I used a couple of different methods to add the colour.  Parts I coloured directly with the pencil and others I picked the colour up with my wet brush and then applied.  The background is simply a wash of the green pencil - Ionian Green.
Below are the three colours I used for the main image which I hope come close to the challenge colours.  My base card is a digital sheet pattern in the colour Ice and measures 14cm x 14cm folded.
Here are the challenges and links I played along with!  I was a little late for sketch challenge at Retro Sketches (ooops!) but I made it in time for the Color Throwdown challenge!
